I love kitchen gadgets and tools that make cooking fun and easy that also cuts down on time spent in the kitchen. Let’s face it you and I both have other things to do besides cook. I remember when I was young my mom would bring out the pressure cooker that you use on the stovetop. I remember distinctly her telling us DO NOT TOUCH THIS!!! So I didn’t, ever!!!
It put a fear in me that I can’t describe, and rightfully so because you can really injure yourself with on of those if you don’t know what you are doing. I remember after the cooker had built up pressure for awhile that little thing on top would start rattling like crazy. It sounded like it was about ready to explode. Because the fear mom my instilled in me I had no desire to ever cook using a pressure cooker. Fast forward to Christmas 2013…my hubby walks into the kitchen with a box from HSN and announces he had decided to buy us an electric pressure cooker for “our” Christmas present. Awesome for him I love things like that for Christmas! All I have to say about pressures cookers, you’ve come a long way baby.
The great thing about using a pressure cooker is that it saves a lot of time, locks in flavors and makes almost any cut of meat tender. One of the best features of a pressure cooker is that you can cook meat from the frozen state. So it eliminates all excuses “I forgot to lay something out to thaw for dinner.” Now there really is no reason that you can’t cook a great awesome clean healthy meal for you and your family.
