I love Mexican food, it’s probably my favorite. However, I am not a big fan of all the sodium in the products you purchase at the grocery store. Not only do they have all high sodium content, they have these extra additives that I can’t even pronounce.

I have the prefect blend for homemade tacos. It’s hubby and kiddo approved. I think for most people these are standard spices and herbs that you keep in your pantry. If not, they so worth buying!


2 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
pinch of Himalayan salt

Measure all dry ingredients into a bowl and mix well.

When making beef tacos, brown meat, add seasoning and tablespoon of water and allow to simmer for a few minutes. Serve in lettuce boats.
